Letter from Julieanne Mack
Hello:
My name is Julieanne Mack and I'm the co-chairperson of "Friends of Mike Perillo." The goal of our organization is to have Mike Perillo elected Judge of the Circuit Court of Lake County from the 6th Judicial Sub Circuit. Mike needs your support and your vote in the General Election set for November 2, 2010.
Mike has been an attorney for 26 years, all of that time spent here in Lake County. After being awarded the Juris Doctor Degree "cum laude" from New York Law School, Mike went on active duty with the Navy and was stationed at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station here in Lake County. As a JAG officer, he prosecuted criminal offenders at Courts-Martial proceedings. He then served as attorney to the Commanding Officer of the Service Schools Command where he was awarded a Navy Commendation Medal for his "exceptional professionalism, initiative and total dedication to duty."
After being honorably discharged from active service, Mike practiced as a Senior Assistant Lake County Public Defender. He then served as a Senior Assistant Lake County State's Attorney prosecuting felony offenders. In both of those positions, Mike appeared daily and tried numerous bench and jury cases in the felony courtrooms of the Lake County Courthouse.
Mike has now been in private practice in Lake County for 17 years. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation matters. The majority of his current clients are senior citizens and others who have been victimized by the abuse and/or neglect of caregivers.
Mike is the only candidate to have been rated by the Judicial Retention and Selection Committee of the Lake County Bar Association as "Highly Recommended" for the 6th Sub Circuit judgeship. That is the highest possible rating this non partisan organization can bestow upon a candidate for the judiciary. In fact, Mike's "Highly Recommended" rating is even higher than that of his opponent, the current incumbent Judge!
I've known Mike, his wife and daughter for 12 years. We are neighbors. Mike and his family are very active in their church. In our community, Mike has volunteered as a youth league boy's baseball and girl's softball coach. He is a volunteer in the Lake County "Teen Court" program (a diversion program for young, first time offenders).
